rad Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 Our experience at the moment of SR2 is well, rubbish. Its not allowing us to build or use the MMC, RM have been sent an email, lets just hope something is done Monday AM
t4ll1f3r Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Sophos quarantined a load of RM files on our FRDC. Also on our workstations. This knackered about 20% of the withdraw tasks and Phase 1 upgrades. 1
sparkeh Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Yep working really well here. Few niggles that should be ironed out with update 85 but nothing major. 1
mjs_mjs Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 working the same as sr1 here, no noticable issues (tho we were on the trial)
Edu-IT Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Our experience at the moment of SR2 is well, rubbish. Its not allowing us to build or use the MMC, RM have been sent an email, lets just hope something is done Monday AM What's the issue with the RMMC? Might be able to help you with that. Working pretty well for us here now. We were also a field trial site though so we went through the issues back then. 1
rad Posted September 6, 2010 Author Posted September 6, 2010 RMMC is not allowing us to do anything, Any tasks we do show as "not started" even simple ones like change passwords/disk quota
mjs_mjs Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 RMMC is not allowing us to do anything, Any tasks we do show as "not started" even simple ones like change passwords/disk quota Speak to RM, they fixed ours for for us. Try restarting all your server too. 1
rad Posted September 6, 2010 Author Posted September 6, 2010 cheers for the support. A server reboot followed by RM tweaking things worked wonders. Good job we have a very knowledgable contact at RM that resolves issues quickly.
mjs_mjs Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 One thing to note - when restating a server/rm service host - clear out you cache/proxies folders as it speeds thing up so much.... someone at rm gave me a script that does it automatically - very useful.
pacnet Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 Hi, We have a new CC4 network that has had many teething issues. Can someone advise if we allow multiple logons for teachers (say 4), will this likely gives problems with roaming profiles, as I understand it may do? Thanks
PiqueABoo Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 Can someone advise if we allow multiple logons for teachers (say 4), will this likely gives problems with roaming profiles, as I understand it may do? I would definitely advise against that. Sorry, but given the ease of resetting a broken profile and moving on I've never bothered to stop and figure out a solid technical case for why it can hurt, but I'm pretty sure it has caused some hurt. Perhaps there is some alternative: Why do teachers need these multiple logons?
mjs_mjs Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Yes it will, it wont really cause a problem for you technically but users will try and open documents twice and wonder why changing them on one isn't changed on another or why their sims assessment sheet is blank as they've opened it on another computer else where left it blank and it's overwritten it in sims. in short the problem is not a technical one but a user one. there are issues about roaming profiles but in general it's a last profile writes back last takes precedance. best to avoid allowing them to log on in two places at the same time, not to mention better security.
russdev Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Over the tasks issue have you got update 85 on we had an task issue with pcs and software assignment and update 85 fixed that. As for SR2 same as mark really no major problems at all. Russ
Chris_ Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 We've been told that along with update 85 fixing various issues that it brings a whole load more. We're going to hold back before installing it.

As this is/was licensed software this isn’t something someone can legally send to you despite its age.
