Ric_ Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Thanks to Matt Egan at IDG for making me smile this morning... Lenovo LePad to challenge Apple iPad News - PC Advisor I'm a big fan of Lenovo but they have gone down in my estimation slightly after this naming faux pas!
localzuk Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Are we gonna get a hPad from HP? and a aPad from Acer? What about a vPad from Viglen? lol
RingOfFlame Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 HP is actually giving theirs the sensible name PalmPad
Ric_ Posted July 20, 2010 Author Posted July 20, 2010 Are we gonna get a hPad from HP? and a aPad from Acer? What about a vPad from Viglen? lol Surely vePad from Viglen. HP is actually giving theirs the sensible name PalmPad Sensible in that it will run Palm WebOS but it's still a silly name... what's wrong with the HP Slate or something? When I was a lad... everything just had a string of letters and numbers and life was better then! (and it snowed at Christmas and never rained in summer).
john Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 When I was a lad... everything just had a string of letters and numbers and life was better then! (and it snowed at Christmas and never rained in summer). Your looking very youthful for 80 Ric hehe Must admit though, stupid name from Lenovo I'd have expected something more smart than that from them.
FN-GM Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 It annoys me when people steal names. Tiles R Us is another name i don't like. They just steal it from Toys R Us
synaesthesia Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 LePad is a perfectly sensible name. Instantly recognisable as a sanitary product for french women. 1
witch Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 LePad is a perfectly sensible name. Instantly recognisable as a sanitary product for french women. Yes, have to say I agree - that's what came to mind when I saw the name
PeteM Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 LePad is a perfectly sensible name. Instantly recognisable as a sanitary product for french women. How much do they pay these people to come up with these names?
tech_guy Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 It annoys me when people steal names. Tiles R Us is another name i don't like. They just steal it from Toys R Us Yes, we've got a local guy who's a plumber with 'Plumbing R Us' on his van - it looks kind of stupid.
