nickbro Posted April 27, 2011 Author Posted April 27, 2011 Hmm, I can't think of why the user card wouldn't be working. Can you navigate to https://%hapurl%/%dir%/usercard/api.asmx I may have 3 in my version, the 3rd was redundant. The system should work without the user photo
nickbro Posted April 27, 2011 Author Posted April 27, 2011 Try the updated user card installer on Home Access Plus+ - Download: v6.1

I've updated the version on the website a few hours ago with some more exception handling stuff. Can't think of why it's not working. Have a look in the event logs, see if you can paste the error to me
nickbro Posted April 27, 2011 Author Posted April 27, 2011 Hi @nickbro, I get the following error message when attempting to access HAP+ Server Error in '/Extranet' Application. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Configuration Error Description: An error occurred during the processing of a configuration file required to service this request. linkazoid Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 Hi Nick, The file HAP.AD.dll exists in the bin folder. I followed the Youtube Video for IIS 7.5. Do you have any written documentation incase I haven't followed the video properly. Thanks,
nickbro Posted April 27, 2011 Author Posted April 27, 2011 Home Access Plus+, near the top is a PDF download. It's an odd error that I had not before encountered.

synaesthesia Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 Hello, We're looking to join the fray of HAP users. Trying to get it set up however following the instructions via video we get the following error when browsing to http://folders.oursite.northants.sch.uk/extranet Can't find quota server Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code. Stack Trace: [Exception: Can't find quota server] HAP.Data.ComputerBrowser.Quota.GetQuota(String username, String share) +553 HAP.Web.Default.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) +3028 System.Web.Util.CalliHelper.EventArgFunctionCaller(IntPtr fp, Object o, Object t, EventArgs e) +14 System.Web.Util.CalliEventHandlerDelegateProxy.Callback(Object sender, EventArgs e) +35 System.Web.UI.Control.OnLoad(EventArgs e) +91 System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() +74 System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) +2207 We've removed the quota section entirely from the web.config and still getting this - we've also attempted rolling back to 6.1, installing the HAP Quota Service from your website and nothing appears to be helping! It's probably something simple but it's got us stumped Any tips?
synaesthesia Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 The above can be disregarded - removed another mention of Quota in the web.config (regarding the user areas). All appears to be working well and we're quite impressed
nickbro Posted May 7, 2011 Author Posted May 7, 2011 I've created a new thread for my build status updates, I would recommended everyone subscribe to it, you'll get the latest news on new features in HAP+ http://www.edugeek.net/forums/home-access-plus/75210-home-access-plus-build-status-updates.html You may also use this thread for requests
5tu Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 Sorry to be a pain, bit more testing, the extended version doesn't seem to be working for me, basic is fine but when you move to extended on my PC it doesn't show the drives just shows My School Computer and nothing else in the panes. I've got exactly the same problem. Basic works fine but Extended shows nothing under "My School Computer". I have tried replacing the BIN folder in case of any corrupt files but the issue remains.

You do 100% need the site to run as HTTPS, I had this problem and as soon as I put it as HTTPS and installed an SSL Certificate, everything came to life and worked a treat so https is your answer Mart

nickbro Posted May 12, 2011 Author Posted May 12, 2011 Because of basic authentication, you should ALWAYS use HTTPS! Basic sends the username/password in CLEAR text across the internet, something an admin should NOT permit. Sorry to put a downer on things, but anything but basic authentication and HAP+ can't do some of it's more advanced features.
Edu-IT Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 On the latest version, is it normal for the Home Access Plus Home and Basic Version links to be plain HTML? These used to be fancy buttons.
2097 Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 Nickbro , Has the latest 6+ version fixed the Homedrive issue ? If any of my users dont have a homedrive they cant download nothing ! from any network share
mrbios Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 ? dont understand haha sorry, it was a double negative "can not download nothing" would mean they could download everything (or something like they couldn't use it without downloading!)
raytowle Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Hi I have installed HAP on our network and its working great. We do have just a couple of questions in regards to customising the site. We'd like to know if its possible to change the menu headings, for instance, in the "My Computer" browser, is it possible to change the display name from "My School Computer" to something else? I think this is mostly for the extended version of the browser. Also, how easy would it be to change the general look and feel of the site, as in the colours of backgrounds and boxes etc? Many thanks Ray
