dezt Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Ah, i'm having a stupid moment. It's my account and my home area i'm trying to delete a file from. My area is on a NAS box which i'm testing out before I move our staff across, I just found out I hadn't given myself permissions to acess the share correctly. It all works now.
dezt Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 OK, ive got this working quite well at the moment, but i just can't figure out how to create the file for the booking system upload from sims so it can auto populate the timetable. Can someone please help?
nickbro Posted February 18, 2011 Author Posted February 18, 2011 It isn't very well implemented at this time. When we get our timetable in SIMS i'll be able to write a better importer, with a sample report to run. Our Assistant Head is dragging her feet with it, it's been pushed back 3 times now (2 years). She still does it by hand, but never imports it into SIMS. August, hopefully!
dezt Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 Ok, cheers nick. If I put the current timetabled lessons into the booking system as static bookings will they be on the booking system as unavailable periods for booking the room?
nickbro Posted February 20, 2011 Author Posted February 20, 2011 Yep, that's how it works. Domain Admins can Override the timetabled bookings on a one off basis if needed. They appear in the bs with a timetabled icon
nickbro Posted February 20, 2011 Author Posted February 20, 2011 Hi all, I've got to do some testing but here's the next addition to HAP+. The User Card. Like the logon tracker this app users bits of HAP to show a nice interface for staff, allowing them to reset student passwords if needed, enable controlled assessment users, as well as allow users to update their department/form. It'll bug the user once in September to update their form/department, as well as when they user firsts logs on. Students, obviously, will only see the My Tab. It runs as a system tray icon, and pops up like that when the user clicks on it, or their attention is needed. The forms/departments are defined via a web interface on the HAP+ website, with the other information being pulled from the HAP+ configuration file. Data is sent via the SOAP api, so is encrypted, and if you put it on https it's doubly encrypted. The app uses direct AD calls so you can't run it from a pc outside of the AD site, although you can use it from pcs not joined to the domain 1

nickbro Posted March 1, 2011 Author Posted March 1, 2011 You need to supply a students group name. What errors are you getting? 1
sister_annex Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 Dear, Can you help me in configuration please? > I use windows server 2003 and the "useradmin" is admin group not the administrator of AD. We don't use RM network and we use HAP V 5.4 . All the Best, Dubai College IT. OK, Firstly, the adusername field should be in the format DOMAIN\USERNAME - using groups will not work. As stated in previous posts you may use a specific user that has been delegated the appropriate permissions. As you are not using RM you can remove the {0} and OU={0} tags these are for RM systems only. As Nick has stated you will also need a Pupil Group name For example: > In the Allow Users Tag you may wish to change this to a domain group that will be able to use HAP For Example: Try these options first to test Regards, Mark 1
itdc Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 Thank you for your responses, What do you mean by student group? Is a group of all student in AD or random name?. Regrads, IT Dubai College.

It is a group that all your students will be a member of. For Example, our student group name is simply called pupils 1

nickbro Posted March 5, 2011 Author Posted March 5, 2011 Here's the current list of changes in HAP 6: Tracker API changed from text to .net WebService (more secure and more reliable) My User Card added My Computer .net WebService API added Replace API in the Silverlight Browser to using the .net WebService. More WPF compliant Silverlight My Computer Browser (currently uses a lot of older methods for rendering, this should make it quicker) More threading on the Silverlight Browser The ability to choose either an XML or MS SQL Provider for the logon tracker
