Iain.Faulkner Posted July 5, 2010 Author Posted July 5, 2010 Very very jealous Witch! One day a beetle will be mine, oh yes it will be mine :-)
3s-gtech Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 I know it's shocking to some, but I just couldn't bear the gutlessness of one of these - it'd have to have a Legacy 2.5 flat four in it, preferably with a blower Obviously the brakes etc would be uprated too.
sippo Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 Very very jealous Witch! One day a beetle will be mine, oh yes it will be mine :-) In the 90's, my uncle changed his name to Mr Jonathon Volkswagon-Beetle. No word of a lie. He wanted his gf to change her name to Karmann Ghia. She refused.
Iain.Faulkner Posted July 8, 2010 Author Posted July 8, 2010 Well she's home :-) thoroughly enjoyed my 40 mile drive home in her and can't wait to take her out again to Camperjam over the weekend :-)

joe90bass Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Take the wheels off, and put a flat bottom on it, and I may be more interested Camper vans are the land equivalent of narrowboats - my dream. Don't let my Dad hear you say that, he hates the things as they take up all the moorings on the river where he has his boat! In my younger days I fancied getting a Transit and doing the whole touring with the band and sleeping in the van thing, unfortunately I couldn't afford one and the gigs were only ever local so no point!
localzuk Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Don't let my Dad hear you say that, he hates the things as they take up all the moorings on the river where he has his boat! That's what they're supposed to do though! If he owns one of those plastic boats then that's his own fault
kili Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 Nice buy. I had a VW westphalia 2.0 Automatic when I was 20 years of age ( Now 53) lovely machine, only problem I ever had was a split fuel line between the twin carbs which leaked onto the hot manifold just as we entered Wales ( Welcome to Wales) we caught fire, wasn't to bad just the air filter box melted. If you've got the twin carb version check the fuel lines lol.. Kili
