indiegirl Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 Goes without saying really... today is officially my last day working in a school environment. I'm officially employed by the school until the 1st Jan, but due to Christmas and holidays owing, I finish this afternoon... (not that I'm grinning like a hyena on smack or anything )
webman Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 Well done So what revenge have you got planned for the NM? (If he's at work today that is )
alan-d Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 All the best Indie - don't forget us poor soles left behind Promise to visit
indiegirl Posted December 18, 2006 Author Posted December 18, 2006 He's rolled in at 8.40 this morning (well after the bell...) and i'm not sure yet whether to leave him a little gift... Or, I might just leave things as they are. There is, after all, a box of used Coca Cola bottles (and tissues, and other rubbish) that he left on the floor by our server cabinet when he went to India for a month in March. I was so incensed that I tipped said rubbish into a box and sealed it, and left it under his desk in the server room. We've now moved out of the server room (moved in June) to a new office, but he STILL hasn't opened that box up... I'm so glad I won't be there when he does ;-)
e_g_r Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 How about changing the admin password and locking the server consoles!!!!!!!!!! All the best working for the gov
GrumbleDook Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 The biggest and best stitch up you can do is write down the lists of jobs that are still waiting to be done by him, have been partially done by him and then left and that he has done but cocked up so much that it would have been better to get an untrained koala to do them instead ... and then make lots of copies ... and leave them with notable people in the staff ... When things go wrong next year (which they will) staff will be able to turn round and say "But we know it was you that fscked that up ... and there is no point in trying to blame anyone else ..." Normally I would suggest etherkillers and so on ... but you have nothing against the school and he sounds the sort of person that if his machine was screwed he would just take one from someboody that actually needs it instead!
Jake Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 Bah ! you are working for the government now , men in black, shady deals etc, use your new found position to get a squad round to his place and cave his skull in with a tyre iron. Cranial fractures and internal cerebral bleeding, thats the way to go with some people
broc Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 Delete his profile, and his backups (Assuming he took any)
beeswax Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 Bah ! you are working for the government now , men in black, shady deals etc, use your new found position to get a squad round to his place and cave his skull in with a tyre iron. Cranial fractures and internal cerebral bleeding, thats the way to go with some people I think you're ready for some R'n'R
Midget Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 Leave him with a nice easy task to do over xmas, such as knocking off the power on the dist board for one IT suite, and partly remove a kettle lead from a backbone switch so that it looks like it is plugged in, but it actually isn't; and see if he can find out why things aren't working

Cranial fractures and internal cerebral bleeding, thats the way to go with some people I think you're ready for some R'n'R I've been watching too much 24 lately...been watching Series 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 so that I am ready for series 6 in January.
NetDiag Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 Why not leave him a pile of old 1970's sticky girlie mags and a kingsize box of tissues!
SpuffMonkey Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 He's rolled in at 8.40 this morning (well after the bell...) and i'm not sure yet whether to leave him a little gift... In a Sharon Osborne stylee??
indiegirl Posted December 18, 2006 Author Posted December 18, 2006 Do you know, I'd hate to get on the wrong side of any of you... As for the joblist GD: I would, but I only have one day ;-) (those who need to know, know; if you get what I mean)
Midget Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 haven't you felt the need to change the DC's name and IP address all year? maybe 3pm would be the best time to do so, in preparation for next year and all......
broc Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 register his email address on a bunch of dodgy websites
indiegirl Posted December 18, 2006 Author Posted December 18, 2006 *goes off to find something suitably irritating to register emails for* ;-) If I changed the IP or any passwords, he'd spend the rest of this week phoning me trying to find out what he needs to do. Remember, I'm still employed until New Year's Day... if I can find anything that uses a delaying tactic until January, that'd be good :-D
Midget Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 You can use a script and the task scheduler. obviously the script would have to delete itself and the task entry. Set it to run around the 12th of Jan, well after you have finished, but gives some time for it to look like the NM's fault.
buzzard Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 can you remotely access your dc's?? using an ip blocker or a proxy it would be hard to trace, then delete all his stuff.
GrumbleDook Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 The problem with these things is that they affect the rest of the school ... and you know he will blame someone else ... as in the person who has just gone out the door ... perhaps leave a couple of .bat files that set off .vbs files that do lots of other things ... but mainly delete his stuff or cause just him problems ... wmi scripts that disable his network connection, scripts that copy dodgy pictures into his home area and set it as his folder background, I am sure that you can think of other suitable nasty things to do just to him!
webman Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 Yes I think it'd be best to stay away from things that could affect the T&L, the school may well call you back if he decides to blame you. But affecting him alone will suffice
CyberNerd Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 I can't believe you are suggesting such things, you just can't go around deleting peoples data or breaking into schools systems. Its unethical and illegal.
indiegirl Posted December 18, 2006 Author Posted December 18, 2006 Exactly... I might not like him much, but there's rules and ethics that I will abide by. I'm still a professional at the end of the day... I think I will adopt a comment that GD made, which is to do diddly squat - he will show himself up soon enough!
Guest Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 All the best IG. Looks like someone is gona have a great ChrimBO. Have to agree with CyberNerd. This thread is getting a bit out of control with regards to giving ideas to bring a schol network down.
