Just found out that as my boss has been ill this week, he has no help scheduled for Open Evening and needs to set up some interesting things for people to see that will just run by themselves. We are going to set up the Lego robots to do something but has anyone any other ideas? I have less than 1 hour to set this up

Help!!!!

We had some things like subject specific interactive websites up on IWBs (such as 'Crystal Rainforest' or 'Grid Club'), do you have access to any of these?

Got any PowerPoints done by the kids that you can stick on the IWBs?

Thank you - good idea. The G&T have just done a project where they collated info on 'what makes a good lesson' with pie charts and graphs and all - that'll look good on the screen!

A couple of things that always went down well when I helped out at open evenings:

1. Webcam that takes a picture of someone as they walk into the room and then displays it on the board

2. HUGE lego robot that used a nifty little Java programme to make it 'dance'

3. Flowol+Control Box+Model traffic lights/Model house

Have fun Witch! We are lucky we don't have to be there for open evenings, we leave the teachers to it.

Or unlucky depending on your viewpoint. Personally I love being around on open evening and meeting parents and kids.

I'm never asked to be there - although I would (but not tonight as it is my mum's birthday)

I left the thread open for my boss, the ICT coord to read.

I should have thought that he does things at the last minute - if I had known I could have done something really good.

Unfortunately, even the Lego robots were in pieces for a project to use them as cranes.

Thanks for all your suggestions - I'll let you know how it went tomorrow
