rad Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 I am glad you spoke out, so many would of bottled up and hid somewhere in a dark corner. I hope the future is bright for you, take care. 1
Hightower Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 Sounds to me like you may be better off pal. I mean we all make sacrifices for our loved ones (like since buying a house I at least spend 1 night a week with the wife now, hell, I even cooked her tea last night (before nipping out to play squash haha)), but sometimes you gotta see it from the outside to know if you are being taken a lend of. My brothers wife is a b1tch and none of the family like her, although we all try to get on as she is the mother of my brothers children. However, we can see her for what she is yet he cannot. Dan Brown said it a lot in his latest book - "All it takes is a change of perspective to see the truth". Anyhow mate, it's good to hear you are doing well and living life.
featured_spectre Posted June 16, 2010 Author Posted June 16, 2010 Well I went out clubbing with a lady friend of mine (who is stunning, and Simon Collins can confirm this), we have been together in the past and it didn't go anywhere so we stayed friends, however things seem to be spicing up in that area with us through no other interventions! ha-ha, and her mother is surreptitiously trying to set us up (despite the fact we need no intervention!!!). I know it can be seen as a rebound, however we both made clear nothing will happen in terms of a relationship for a while as we need to see how things evolve on their own.

featured_spectre Posted June 16, 2010 Author Posted June 16, 2010 (edited) that is true, and dan I am definitely on the road to recovery! I am doing 3-4 MA lessons a week (I used to do 6 before I stopped, and i want to work my way back up to 6), and I am just having fun! Oh and I am also down in weight aswell, 6.9KGs in a week (a shade under 1 stone), mainly because of dancing like a mad man when clubbing, and doing the martial arts! Rydra Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 My record was GAINING 1 stone, and losing 2 inches off the waistline in 3 weeks. Living in a tent, and working 8 hour nightly shifts in a kitchen with an average temp of 103 degrees for 3 weeks does that to you But when I used to be a climbing instructor and a cyclist was my peak; I gained 2 stone in muscle in 2 months, and got to the point where I could lift the wife with one arm without trying. Then I discovered beer, computers and driving, and it all went downhill from there

Out of interest, which martial art? 'I know Kung-Fu' [ninja pose, arm outstretched, finger beckoning....]
featured_spectre Posted June 16, 2010 Author Posted June 16, 2010 I do Moo Duk Kwan Tang Soo Do (Tae Kwon Do and Tang Soo Do are varients of Moo Duk Kwan). In 1 year I went up 4 grades, and I am realistically looking at Junior 1st Dan by Summer 2011, and Senior 1st Dan Christmas 2012.
aerospacemango Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 I first saw this thread last night, and read through it in one sitting. A truly sorry tale, but good to see that you are slowly coming out of the other side. My brother had a similar situation, with his partner, just after the birth of their first son. She decided that seeing other people was a good thing. Suffice to say, my brother was hurt immeasurably. They got back together, and eventually married and had 2 more children. 4 years ago, they finally split for good, with all the accusations and recriminations that it involved. 3 children have been hurt by this. Despite the bitterness, my brother was able to see past the present and look to the future. Despite ongoing legal battles with his ex-wife, he is still able to look forward. He now shares his life with another woman, who has 3 children of her own. They plan on getting married. Although when you live through this, it feels like there is NO way out.....always remember that life will come good for you. You WILL find happiness, and your daughter WILL always love you. Hope things continue to improve for you Neph, and good luck for the future
Sarconia Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 I've not commented on this post until now as I really don't understand why so many people choose to mess around when it comes to relationships. It's simple, you either like someone or you dont, the only distinction between that is if you like them as a friend or if you fancy them and want to take it further than just friends. Why would someone mess up a perfectly good relationship by having their best friends baby? Surely it's common sense that a) it's wrong b) you just don't do that and c) going to end the relationship for sure. On the other hand, what was the best friend doing sleeping with her in the first place? It's all a bit ambiguous and it makes no logical sense to me. So, I'm not really sure what to say, there isn't really anything that can be done other than /move on and /next! I just wish that everyone would be honest with their feelings, if you can't at least be honest with yourself then it's a fail. People lie, plot and scheme a lot I've noticed when it comes to relationships, they might be held back by previous bad experiences, having judged the other person before they even really know them and generally throw around numerous other weird and wonderful excuses. Just be true to yourself and everything will be fine... now finding another person who is also true to themselves... that's the problem!
featured_spectre Posted June 16, 2010 Author Posted June 16, 2010 I have told my friend (the one with whom it is getting spicy) that I do not want a relationship until she is back from her clubbing holidays in ibiza and newquay as i don't want to restrict her fun, and she wouldn't restrict my fun if i booked a clubbing holiday before anything happened either. When she's back, then who knows!
vikpaw Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 I do Moo Duk Kwan Tang Soo Do (Tae Kwon Do and Tang Soo Do are varients of Moo Duk Kwan). In 1 year I went up 4 grades, and I am realistically looking at Junior 1st Dan by Summer 2011, and Senior 1st Dan Christmas 2012. Well. I have seen all the Karate Kid movies, even the fourth one with the girl Is Tae Kwon Do Tai Chi on speed ?
Elison Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 I have told my friend (the one with whom it is getting spicy) that I do not want a relationship until she is back from her clubbing holidays in ibiza and newquay as i don't want to restrict her fun, and she wouldn't restrict my fun if i booked a clubbing holiday before anything happened either. When she's back, then who knows! this is good decidion I think. Both of you need to think about a lot of things. When I was reading your post, I was almost crying. It reminds me my own broken heart. After 2 years of being together my parner told me that doesnt love me anymore. he feels something special for me, but he doesnt sure whether it is love. I know that this situation is not so tragic as yours...We dont have kids, we are not even married....But I used to think that we will one day, that he is my "second half"....We meet as friends now, spend a lot of time together...still...And I undertood one thing: if there is only one chance to back his love, I ll do anything, becouse I still love him. And if I lose this only chance I ll regret about it. The one advice I can give you: if you feel that you love her, that you can forgive her, if you feel that she has feelings to you (this is the most important thing), fight for you love and for family for your daugher. I am sure that this will take a lot of time. You will get to know each other again. Little by little. But If you give all this up now, you may regret about it futher. But if she loves your "friend", if they have serious relationships and she doesnt have any feelings to you....Then just let her go...It hurts, but this is fair. fair for you, for her, for your dauther and baby that is inside her... Again, sorry to read about your story...I wish you to be strong, dear friend and solve it out!
