It will be interesting to find out if FREE schools get any capital funding for new buildings or the conversion of existing buildings & where the funding comes from?

Got a feeling this may be too late for us in terms of the ICT side of BSF, but since there is no "spade in the ground" and certainly tnoplanning permission, the proposed merger / new build may very well be no longer on the cards..

We are in a similar situation plans have been drawn up for the new school and they have yet to be signed off, the whole "spade in the ground" isn't happening till early next year so its still up in the air.

 

School has yet to sign up to the LEA Managed Service Solution but we have been told that the funding for our wave of schools is secure.

Read somewhere that any schemes that have not reached Finacial Close will be in jeopardy and will not be guaranteed...only time will tell!

I am waiting for the Head Teacher to forward me a copy of the minutes as he wasn't there yesterday, should make for some interesting reading.

 

Fingers crossed were still on for next week, I'm looking forward to a afternoon out of school on Thursday.

I'm in the same situation, provisional plans have been drawn up, but we will be losing lots of space if it goes ahead. Also got told that funding is already secure by the head here

Not just "supposed" to be internationally recognised, it is recognised :-)

 

They're only used normally in schools outside the UK and there's a feeling that they're "better" than the UK based exams so it's not just about the fact that other countries will recognise them it's more that students from other countries can come here and show that they've done exams that we recognise.

 

I should declare an interest - I am slightly involved in the setting process for the International A Levels set by Cambridge.
