pritchardavid Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 (edited) Great job with the logos everyone Wonder if anyone care to try and update our one if you can think of any think to do with it? Our one is pretty good already to be honest, just seeing if anyone can make it better Theres a compressed folder with all the versions of the logo we have had ----------------------------------------------------------------- Also can someone possiblly make me a 2 different backgrounds? (1024x768) One we have now is over two years old, so it needs a change (Upoaded this one two) One would be for the windows 7 logon screen (So need to account for the user account picture box, unless this can be disabled??) Second one would be for the students and staff desktop background Thanks in Advance Edited May 10, 2010 by SYSMAN_MK
EduTech Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 Nice!! I think some new EduGeek V4.0 wallpapers are in the need
K.C.Leblanc Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 Nice!! I think some new EduGeek V4.0 wallpapers are in the need Or perhaps we could go down the Artex route? I've heard it's going to be all the rage next year when it features on the new OSX release, Snow Donkey.
pritchardavid Posted May 10, 2010 Author Posted May 10, 2010 thanks sysman looks good! What would the best way of applying the background has the logon screen on all the windows 7 computers we have setup so far? Could make a msi but dont know what part of the registry I would need to change Also one quite annoying problem..... Is it possible to get rid of the empty frame where the users profile picture would normally go? do really want an empty frame, looks stupid, unless you can sort out a matching profile piicture? (prefere it not to be there fullstop)
EduTech Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 (edited) Dave, Take a look at this website: How To Change Windows 7 Logon Screen Easily [Without Using Hacks & Tools] What you will need to do is force the reg change via GPO, and then what you could do is create a batch file that would create the folder and copy the image over from a share. You can make the directory and copy a file using these commands: IF EXIST C:\Windows\System32\oobe\Info GOTO END MD C:\Windows\System32\oobe\Info MD C:\Windows\System32\oobe\Info\backgrounds xcopy \\server\share\backgroundDefault.jpg "C:\Windows\System32\oobe\Info\backgrounds\backgroundDefault.jpg" :END ECHO C:\Windows\System32\oobe\Info FOLDER ALREADY EXISTS It's probably a long winded way of doing it, but if it does the job until you come to re-image you machines (when ever that maybe) and then in which case you can do these changes when creating your images. pritchardavid Posted May 10, 2010 Author Posted May 10, 2010 (edited) thanks mate What I'll do I make a quick msi with the image and the registry fix for the time being until I make the new images Yer will be making new images soon (need to do 4 everytime I make new ones, 2x domain 32bit and 64 bit and 2x workgroup 32bit and 64bit) Need to include office 2010 in both of them, much it much quicker that way But server upgrades are first, upgrading all of them to 2008R2 Edited May 10, 2010 by pritchardavid
EduTech Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 (edited) No Problem, I have just tested that here just so you know and it works fine (there might be an easier way who knows... but it's 00:23 and that's the best i can do atm although tbh it works so who cares ) MSI should work too, although just putting the Batch file in Logon Scripts (Users) will work okay just leave it on there for a few days until your confident it has applied to all machines. Make sure you add --- exit --- as well so the Dos Prompt disappears if you do it that way. Edited May 10, 2010 by EduTech
pritchardavid Posted May 13, 2010 Author Posted May 13, 2010 SYSMAN Could you do me a favour with the background you made for me Could you try some different colours, dont think 'the head' would want black, will show her through, need a backup to show here too So school colours would be needed really, so eithier blue or yellow or white would be ok Also could you use the font Tahoma and see what the comic sans would look like Thanks in advance if you have the time to do this
garethEds Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Oh I like that bottom one in white. Don't suppose you fancy knocking one up for me with my school logo? Gareth 1
pritchardavid Posted May 13, 2010 Author Posted May 13, 2010 (edited) Sorry to be a pain mate, just to try is it possible to see if what it would look like in mixed colours, not sure what i would look like, gussing here ie white and blue or white and yellow, etc what every colour mix you think would be good, suppose black will be ok if its with another colour so colours again, eithier - blue, yellow, white and black if with another colour If you can, once you done that the mixed colours, can you send me the files to my email (Including the once you just done) so I can see it bigger and the correct resloution email is [email protected] Cheers mate, they do look good, stil prefere the black tbh, hopefully see will agree to that one, doubt it, cause its not the school colours Thinking your font you chosse may look better, I'll let you chosse, dont bothered about what my line manger said, its not down to him Edited May 13, 2010 by pritchardavid
