mattx Posted April 27, 2010 Author Posted April 27, 2010 How did you go about procuring a hive? Our lot might be interested. *imagines mattx attaching cameras to bees* Our Science Technician made them - had to order them from China !!! In regards to the Cam, we already have one inside one of the hives, just a matter of hooking it up to something - problem is the hives are quite a way into our nature reserve so power and wireless signal are the problem. We like a challenge.
danrhodes Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Im guna setup a cam, not sure what to set it up on though, I want to set it up on my bonsai trees and do a time lapse to see them growing this summer? Would that be interesting?

BandyQuill Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 you need to get a camera in the hive, would love to see how it all works
RinSewand Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Lighting may be a problem... entrance and exit might be quite funky though. Solar power? Go really eco-friendly?
pete Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Try RFC1149? Might need to reduce your packet size though. 2
Pete10141748 Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 No bee's here, lots of wasps though, had to attack 5 so far with the RAID can so far this week, they seem to like my server cabinet for some reason, maybe the low-res hum attracts them?
6Foot2 Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Until recently we had a regular visit from a swarm of bees looking to make a home in out Drama studio. For several tears n a row we would come in during the holiday to be greeted with a very active colony. Toward the end of the holiday we always expected masses of dead bees on the floor of the Drama studio [and we were not disappointed] I doubt that we will have the same issue this year, however, as we have had modern windows installed [their main route into Drama] Perhaps they will still gain access through the vents though?

Surely they should be avoiding your server rack with the quantity of RAID in it
