Intergrated Computer Workstation

we are going to convert a room in to a graphic design room and the D+T guy has been looking into using computers intergrated into desks so it has a dual purpose, used as work areas then at the touch of a button monitors pop up and then used as computers.

So my question is has anyone got this kind of set up at their place and could u please give me some links or contacts.

Eurotek make desks with pop up lids that are lockable. We have these and they look good. But they dont take much of battering to break so I am not sure they are suitable for a Design Tech environment

well i could have said click but touch does sound a bit more james bond, i have found one company (http://www.flipscreendesking.com) via a google search but struggling to find anymore company's who do this sort of thing.

I had a guy from Flipscreen come to give me a demo... he brought a desk in the back of his car! They look very good.

 

Oliis can supply Flipscreen desks for you (speak to Bobby).

 

I also looked at desks from CCL (? - can't remember off the top of my head) but the Flipscreen ones looked a lot more sturdy.

What about DeskTec? They seemed like pretty good desks at Bett last year.

they have secure desks, few different models and designs.

 

if your after ones with a pop up screen and your gonna use them in D+T be carefull, as there is usually a slight gap around the bit that pop's up, could get full of junk.

Have seen the ones that CCL do at BETT last year and I think I saw them at there offices as well, last time I was in there. They are a good bit of kit, I would spend my money on them no probs. Give Mark or Gaz a ring and have a chat with them, they have done quite a few installs of them in school in North Yorkshire, i'm sure you could go on a Road Trip to see them.

@John: As I mention above, IMHO the CCL desks seemed very bulky and the configurations weren't as flexible as FlipScreen. The FlipScreen ones also look a lot nicer

I also think Godfrey Syrett furniture do something along the lines of these as well.
