I'm sure at home the staff will be using a home variety or Ultimate, so when they come so school and we run it (in a few years) then they'll want the same things, does that mean the Business version will not do and we'll have to pay Ultimate price? hmmm

I expect most consumer PC's will come with Home Premium. If you look at the MS Site you'll see you'd only be missing out on media centre.

WiMP is a pile of crap. Awful skinned interface, doesn't play as many formats as Winamp/foobar2000, supports Digital Restrictions Management, not cross-platform, sluggish...

After speaking with my SLA supplier we will be getting the Enterprise version FOC. Not sure when I will install it though.

I like the WMP11 skin, especially in Vista, I only need WMA, FLAC, OGG, MP3 support, I just don't turn on DRM, I only use Windows, I find it faster and a lot better to use than Winamp when there's 40Gb of music.

 

I've used Winamp for as long as I can remember, I've just started using WMP instead since 11 came out.

 

Would still give my right arm for Milkdrop though.

Spoke to Ramesys this afternoon, we should get Business Edition through them / the SSAT Agreement with them, price for Business Edition is the same as for XP Pro, so thats around the £30 - £40 area dependant on if you get SA, buy 10,000 licences etc..... If I am honest, Enterprise doesn't really do anything for me or shout that its going to add any benifit to a lot of schools in my view, Business Edition will be fine I suspect. Although I think that a lot of IT departments will probably use Ultimate Edition in there offices as it is useful to have everything to play with.
