PHP MYSQL Hit counter

Im looking for a invisable hit counter to go onto the school web site, request from SMT.

 

They want to know all kinds of information, like what time the site was visited, how many hits per day, etc........ i rang up our RBC to see if they had nething like this already on the server and was told if i wanted something like this then i would have to code it myself.....

 

Does anyone know of some good examples for this?

stat counter works for me. the free version only gives you the last 100 hits of the day, but it does give you the OS, the IP address, the country, first time or returning visitor etc

Whats with the google analytics stuff everyone is going crazy with them. Freedom2Surf stuffed it on there site and members area the other day and broke the secure certificate with it as it didnt work correctly, they also discovered that it had been taking various semi-confidential details from the area and adding it to the statistics. So be careful with how you set it up.

I also find google analytics takes a while to loadsometimes so I adblock the javascript file. BBClone and Slim Stat are 100% server-side.

You can host the google blob of javascript code locally if you wish. It's only referring to the one on the google site to keep it up to date.

Well i decided to go for the google one in the end, this will prob just be temp and i will look at the others that have been suggested when i have more time......

 

SMT wanted something ASAP, and it just seemed the quickest one to set up...
