pagelad Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 got an awesome litre bottle of Appleton VX last week by fixing someones trojan ridden pc. Tastes awesome and even better knowing i didnt pay a penny for it!
Edu-IT Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 I can recommend the elderflower press as a subsitute, although it's fizzy rather than a cordial/juice. The Aldi High Juice is quite nice.
Guest Guest Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 I'm a Jack Daniels man so where is the cheapest place to buy it from? Asda and Sainsburys do Bourbon Whiskey. Tastes just the same after the 2nd glass. Around £11 for 70cl
K.C.Leblanc Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Mostly from the pub, but some times the local supermarket. My nearest off licence only stocks white lightening and fizzy lager.
tom_newton Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 I like the new Grouse Black, as a cheap every day Peaty whisky. Tesco et al sell it for £16, but I was in the Whisky shop in Gretna Green on Sunday and they were selling it (obviously to tourists) for £23! Yeah, have 3/4 of a bottle of that on the shelf. It's ok... bit rough around the edges but drinkable with a dash of water.
Andrew_C Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Sainsbury's malt is worth trying. Consider that there are 4 distilleries on Islay, and Sains sell an Islay malt considerably cheaper than the "branded" bottles. It MUST come from one of the 4 well known distilleries! The Speyside is a lovely soft drink.
DAZZD88 Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 I don't generally drink just one thing. I am a man of many tastes and I flitter between JD, Guiness, Tetleys, Stella etc... I also once bought some Smirnoff Apple flavoured vodka and I was quite surprised at how nice it was seeing as I don't drink a lot of vodka, just mix it with lemonade or with fizzy apple. I mostly do my alcohol shopping in Tesco or Morrisons.
