Not sure that all of the above are "obscure" but good call on the John Carpenter stuff (shame he hasn't made a decent movie for over 2 decades ). Anyway, Front 242 - shame that whole "Industrial" movement seemed to be swept away in the tide of ecstasy that flooded the scene at the time.
