Hi there,

I'm the developer at PaperCut responsible for the Ricoh embedded solution. I'm sorry to hear you've encountered the white-screen issue.

We've been working hard to identify the cause of these issues and fix the problems. We've recently implemented some more changes to fix all known occurrences of this problem. If you'd like to send me an email at [email protected] I can help arrange a patch for you that resolves this problem. Alternatively, contact the company who installed the software on your Ricoh device and they'll be able to apply the patch on your machines.

For those interested in the cause of these problems. We've been able to identify that the more recent Ricoh firmware has introduced problems in this area. Some white screen issues were not reproducible on firmware/SDK version 4.14, but are on more recent versions 4.17. The Ricoh firmware release notes explain that they've made a number of changes in this area ... but it seems that they've also introduced regressions. :( This is disappointing and does complicate our efforts to resolve these issues ... but we're working hard to find and resolve all of these issues. This may also explain why you're seeing more occurrences of this after updating the device.

Our latest patch works around these problems and we're confident it will avoid this issue from occurring.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Regards,

Matt
