I was just wondering - which LEAs used which VLEs and more particularly,Moodle?

I'm sure I saw similar on here a while ago but I just can't find the thread and apologies if I didn't look hard enough - please point me in the right direction. There is this from 2006 on Moodle.org but I wondered if there are any more, or anything more up to date? So far I have got:

Lancs/Cumbria

Buckinghamshire

Cambridgeshire

Cornwall

Birmingham

some parts of Wales -not sure where.....

and then these from 2006, though not sure where they are up to:

West Sussex -

Brighton & Hove -

East Riding -

Hartlepool -

Suffolk

East Sussex

East Sussex uses Uniservity now. Apart from a selection of schools that have opted out of the central solution. The majority of them tend to use Moodle :)

Swansea LEA have 15 centrally hosted Moodle setups for the comprehensives.

Ours is Ysgol Gyfun Gwyr Moodle

They have just been upgraded to 1.9.6. The plan is to move over to 2.0 when it arrives.

Installation is reasonably fast but not every school makes good use of it. We have taken it on board and use it a lot - especially in ICT lessons.

The only issue we have is that the setup is centrally hosted so we cannot change anything. We can request changes and the LEA are very good at actioning them but we cannot add modules or try themes. This reduces the support they have to give and I suppose is fair enough.

All in all a good implementation by Swansea.

Stockport are using Moodle - I work for a college that uses Moodle and they talked to us about it quite a lot at first. They put it in the primary schools, not sure how it's going.

Brighton and Hove now use Uniservity (like East Sussex)

There are still a couple of schools with active Moodle sites here, but these are also active with CLC. Not sure how many actually got going with Moodle, looks like just a few with interested IT literate teachers.

JudyB is correct we do use Moodle for all Primary schools. Rolling VLE's in to Primarys is a big task and alot harder than I expected. We are just about to start a trial with 2simple online tools which hopefully will assist in the the roll out.

Question to Judy 'Which college may I ask? Also do you know about the 14-19 central Moodle which has been setup?'

If anyone has any questions about using VLE's in Primary schools or Moodle please don't hesitate to contact me

Cheers
