flyinghaggis Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Are there any online Driving Theory Test websites (Free/paid) that anyone would recommend? Our PSE department are looking for something to use with our 6th years. We previously had a CD version but it's from 2003 so is kind of out of date now. Because of this I was thinking that somekind of website subscription would be ideal given the driving test is continually being updated so it's the only way we could keep up. TIA
LosOjos Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 When I did my theory test a few years back, the DVLA's online test was good, not sure of the quality now but take a look: Official DSA Practice Theory Tests - Home
Edu-IT Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 I purchased a DVD package from WH Smiths for £10 or so and it was great.

It's for the pupils in our school so would need to be something that we can run on our network. Problem is typically the stuff you buy in stores is for home users only.

I'm not sure what the license is on this but I assume you're right.

No Worries. I should probably have been a bit clearer in the title as most of the posts on here about driving tests are for members themselves rather than pupils!
neon Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 (edited) there are 2 official tests on dsa website, are you looking for the hazard perception thing aswell? DSA_Car_01 http://www.theory-tests.co.uk/tests/DSA_Car_02.html I remember buying a program online that was really good not sure on licensing and was £7.99, from driving test success.com Hope this helps. also found this http://www.learnerdriving.com/assets/flash/hptestsim/hptestsim.html might be of some use? and a free online highway code for them to revise from? http://www.learnerdriving.com/learn-to-drive/highway-code/ looks like all the sections are where they should be... also some lesson basic briefs: http://www.learnerdriving.com/learn-to-drive/free-driving-lessons-briefs/ Edited January 19, 2010 by neon

Only problem is it demands the DVD to be in the drive.

Cheers for that, I think our Guidance staff are keen on having something that does the hazard perception part of the test aswell so it would certianly be useful. I think it's actually the 2003 version of that we've got. It's a bit of a non-starter if it (as our current version does) requires the DVD in the drive to run as that implies that it's home-use only and even if not it still means you have to buy a copy for every PC you want the software on! We'd be looking for something with a site licence ideally.
