Screen Rotation on INTEL graphics cards

not relating to this thread but still relating to onboard intel graphics card drivers / exe's etc. Had an issue that I was having and found a thread on here by someone else where by when putting the machine to standby / hibernation / sleep etc when you wake it back up the resolution would go back to 800 * 600 or the likes.

 

msconfig --> startup items --> uncheck igfxpers.exe

 

Which is the exe that persistantly checks the resolution etc - not sure why it sets it back to a lower resolution but obviously if its not set to start then it wont be running.

i have used an adm file that i think was posted here. Worked a treat with rotating screens.

Now have discovered a problem.

 

The MFL dept use hot keys to do accents in apps. I think my introduction of the adm that stops use of intel hot keys has brocken this for them.

Theres no point me using intels reg file as we disable right click for students.

 

So need a solution that disables the hotkeys without turning off hotkeys.

 

Do you know where I can find the adm template for this?

Just thought i'd add that i've been fighting this for a while and removing the tray seemed to work but then I noticed that (as stated above) right clicking the desktop activated igfxsrvc.exe. I banned this with software restriction policy which works very well, the only problem is that you see allot of errors in the event log this isn't a problem for the users it just bugs me

 

I'll take a look at that reg patch from Intel now to see if that improves the situation.

I found this thread through a Google search and it didn't help too much. Though it was a great attempt and thanks to the OP for posting. I am attaching a registry file (saved as a .txt since you cant upload .reg, just rename it .reg). This registry key will remove the system tray icon, the right click menu options for "Graphic Options" and "Graphic Properties...", and the Hot Keys. You will have to log off and then log back on once you have merged this file.

The new driver does not provide any "disable rotation option". So you have to change the registry. Please go to : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ialm\Device0 then search after "Display1_EnableRotation" and put 00 00 00 00 instead of 01 00 00 00 this should work perfectly.

This worked for me, I set it with a registry GPO. The key(s) I found the Display1_EnableRotation under were something like:
