MYK-IT Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 I've deployed the MSI via GPO and copied the usbdlm.ini file across using Group Policy Preference > Files which works a treat especially if you need to update the .ini file. Sorry, to jump into discussion but is related to USBDLM.... Had an issue with U3 pen drives installing as 2 drive letters (virtual CD-ROM) but i've changed settings to rectify that, but the main problem is if someone connects 2 or more pen drives. The usbdlm.ini is configured to only allocate and use one drive letter, but when additional usb pens plugged in the additional drives are listed are added. Can this be configured to stop this? as if it can't defeats the object of trying to lock down and apply software restrictions etc.
6Foot2 Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 I have USBDLM running just as I would like it. Now I have to find a way of preventing a selected group of students from accessing USB drives. Can I use USBDLM to achieve this [for the selected group only] Tried several options all to no avail. I need this for students when they are doing their exams on the network. Thanks.
