Hopefully this is the quickest and most accurate way of finding out.

My father-in-law has collapsed with a stroke and is being taken to Milton keynes hospital.

If you are anywhere en-route, we'd appreciate a quick update on travel conditions in your locality as my husband ideally wants to get to MK today.

constant snow in MK, settled in undisturbed areas to about 1cm. Roads around MK are okay now but getting worse, so if you need to get to MK go now if you can get out of your area but dont expect to get back easy until the morning. Edited by HMCTech

Husband is packing overnight bag, sandwiches and spade... motorways look OKish at moment according to various travel websites. I just wish we owned a 4x4

Husband is on way ... car loaded with emergency supplies and I'm now the worried wife waiting for news that he's arrived safely.

I thought you were going as well, hence the container advice. Men don't have quite as much of a problem. A friend who lives in MK has emailed me to say the M1 seems to be moving well and most of the roads up to the hospital have been treated. So that should be one less worry.

Husband in car park at MK hospital :) 2 hours! Wish it was like that normally!!

Motorways 'Not too bad', but it's snowing heavily. Awaiting news of father-in-law now. Daughter in middle of mocks with AS exam on Monday, so it's better for rest of us to stay home for the moment

Thanks for 'listening' everyone. It does help. :)
