mmm maybe you could a whole school bug system will different components/sections so they can be filed in different areas and looked after by different people.

Although they still did multiple bugs in a single report *rages on the inside*

This is an IT Helpdesk not a bring all your other problems here Helpdesk!

I'm glad that it's not just me that gets this sort of "IT query". I'm trying to come up with some sort of reply that doesn't just come across as plain rude!

It was difficult to reply to.

One part of me wanted to unleash the anger inside! i cannot beleive the pure cheek of asking if i can order a kettle and a bin, I think i shall post a sign outside the office advertising as ARGOS DIRECT PLACE YOUR ORDER HERE

however i had to be professional (mush to my dismay) and here was my reply:

Good Morning ,

I think you have contacted the wrong department with your requests.

As the IT Helpdesk we deal with all the IT equipment, not bins and kettles.

Please contact you line manager with these queries.

Had a projector lamp go today. So that means a trip to the server room to get the lamp. So i head over and i still see no door, typical. A short trip trudging through the snow and through the unfinished new build to get round to the server room, only to find out there was no lamps.

I'm sorry to drag up an old thread, but I think someone has misunderstood what I was saying here... I meant that I didn't want to come across as rude at all. I find it very hard in our place for people not to take offence, if I even say "I'm sorry, but I don't deal with things like that. Have you tried speaking to {insert name of site manager here}?".

I didn't want edugeeks who have really helped me a lot so far to think bad of me, so sorry if I've offended anyone :(

well everything was ok, other than coming in to find out that every teacher has brought in a space heater from home, and it is continuing to overload the breaker so were getting between 3-6 power cuts a day... the head wont do anything because he has 3 heaters in his extra large office...
