Simcfc73 Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 Does anyone know is the time that appears when you update your status on Facebook via email is the time you sent it or the time Facebook updated it. We have a naughty person who did it when they were sat in a mock exam and I don't want to say yes or no about the correct time if there could have been a delay.
rad Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 I think it is instant, only one way to try and thats to do it.
sidewinder Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 Whichever it is, the difference isnt going to be any more than a few minutes
TwoZeroAlpha Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 Unless they specified a delivery time in the message options. I can schedule a message for delivery at any time I like. Could have been done as a wind up?
p858snake Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 There might be documentation about it on their developer network. I'm fairly certain its the time that FB posts it although no matter how they set it there shouldn't be that much time difference. But don't quote me on that
tommccann Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 test it, update your status and check the displayed time
Simcfc73 Posted December 14, 2009 Author Posted December 14, 2009 Just tested and its instant... just gets a bit vague cos the school has alot of dead spots where you can't pick up a signal so the messages might have been stuck in the outbox for a while. I am not staking my life on the time but will just say it maybe possible that they could have possibly done it. Thanks for the replies.
TwoZeroAlpha Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 Can you get hold of said student's mobile (for purpose of investigation) and place it in the location in the exam hall where (s)he would have been. Could give an idea if it was possible.
