Copying Clips from DVDs

In the past, when someone has wanted a clip, Ive ripped the DVD, converted the whole thing to an xvid file with AutoGK and then either converted to WMV and cut with Prism, or used something else to cut the avi direct. Either way, it took ages

Dvddecrytper and imgburn are by the same author and that's pretty much where the similarities end. There is no decrypt function.

If you want to put clips from DVD's into something like Premiere then I would rip it out and then convert it to something like an AVI in any vid converter then import to Premiere.

 

I've noticed Premiere can be a bit funny on the video formats it accepts.......

you eed to go to view and customise interface. Then drag the record button from the left window to the right with the play button.

 

when you go back to the mai window you shouls ee the record button appear.

 

play the dvd and then just press record when you get to the bit you want to record.

 

Falling at the first here - I don't have a "view" menu!

 

EDIT - Ignore that, I've just downloaded the latest version, and now have the options you describe.

I had a nother play at the weekend. It saves the files in My Documents somewhere. I think just in the root of My Documents. will have a quick look for the article I found this info from.

AVS media Converter gets my vote.

 

You can actually select the selection you want and file type you want to output to and the type of media you want to use it for (ipod, mp4 player etc etc.) No DVD pre ripping, straight from the disk also useful for compressing video files. I looked for ages for a solution for creating videos for our video delivery system here and found this is the easiest and the one that required the least ammount of steps for the desired outcome.
