Afternoon!

We have had a problem for a few months where a number of programs crash with memory errors in the likes of (insert useless address here) etc etc. OK to quit and Cancel to debug.

It first happened about a year ago when overnight a program just stopped working, saying there was an memory error in the exe.

We thought it may have been related to an update, but it recently there's a few programs that do it. While saving, opening a saved file or instant as soon as it's opened.

Is there anyway i can get to the root of these problems as we're having problems imaging at the moment due to a fault with NetRunna.

They happen to be the most popular bits of software we have too, typical!

All on Windows XP and have worked fine before.

Thanks in advance.

(writing this on the run, so may have missed something!)

Pass complete, no errors.

Bugger. :(

Must be something on the image but i have no idea where to start finding out. Pretty sure there wasn't anything incriminating in the event logs.

Going to have another look.

Those errors can be to do with DLL issues, either with driver or program DLLs. Its pretty tough to diagnose where the issue lies, try reinstalling the app MSI

Cheers for the replies.

The images are identical on 60 computers and nothing has been tampered with on any of the BIOS.

It is multiple programs. One for instance instantly crashes when you try to save and another will not even open.

The AV is new and the problems were tehre before it started happening.

Last year on an old image it seemed to happen over night to one program so i assumed it was a Windows update.

While creating a new image, we tested installing it before the updates. Then done 170+ updates and it worked fine after those so it may have been something else that was installed that night.

Now it's a number of programs in different situations.

Have you tried saving and opening without network cable in??

also try in safe mode, does you have anythink like Ez-audit on the network that runs at random times?

Good Luck

Edit: Windows Repair one pc for a test

Going to re-image a PC with the original image that had problems. Take off any auditing / AV set up etc and try the problems out that we know of.
