We are using RDP for our terminals, our classes need to use Movie Maker. only way to use Movie Maker in a VM is while opening it hold shift down as you click the shortcut. how would i go about getting this done without holding shift? Had a look through Sendkeys and also thought about a shortcut to Movie Maker with a switch at the end that is as far as i got. before i spent time and effort hunting around for a fix - i thought id ask you guys Cheers

heres a quick way that i find never fails. bit messy but does the job - create a batch file. regedit.exe /s C:\screensaver.reg put the bat file in the startup folder for that user create this reg edit Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop] "ScreenSaveActive"="0" then save the reg file in the route of C:\ the bat will call up the regedit and will apply it silently

Does that still work for Office 2003?
-
if it is changed for some reason i would run a quick xcopy, but saying that in the last 2years i have not had to change the script.
-
course it can cope but why add uneeded stress, well thats the way i see it. i would suggest to try it. printers.vbs in the route of C:\ as a GPO call it via a logon script "C:\printers.vbs" - hope that helps

i find most the issues are client based, i have got into the habbit of making sure i use bootvis before creating any image. ( XP images ) http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/system/sysperf/fastboot/default.mspx also making sure logon scripts are checked over, we have our printer scripts on the local drive and just have a policy to look at the script, i have noticed at some schools they run the script in the logon.bat i also roll out a regedit for startup have a look here HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Sorry for the bump but did this work for you peter?

would this work? download PSexec.exe and autologon.exe Make a PC list as a txt file named as "ComputerList.txt" Psexec.exe -u "domain\user" -p "password" -c -i -d @ComputerList.txt logon.exe "user_you_want_logged_in" "password" Autologon or try [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon] "AutoAdminLogon"="1" "DefaultUserName"="username" "DefaultPassword"="password" "DefaultDomainName"="computername or domain name" "ForceAutoLogon"="1" maybe...

ive had a search and no real solution was found so i thought id give it a try. if someone would do me the favour of testing it. best place i could think of putting it would be the logon script Cheers disable vbs.zip
