Popular Post synaesthesia Posted October 11, 2009 Popular Post Posted October 11, 2009 If so, and you don't already know, Series 9 has just been confirmed, filming next year Full blown series too, not a 3 part special or owt Happy days, as a huge fanatic myself! 9
localzuk Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Woo! More Red Dwarf is always good. Wish they'd give them a decent budget though.
synaesthesia Posted October 11, 2009 Author Posted October 11, 2009 Aye would be nice, but like the early series a budget isn't always necessary. Trouble is, it's very difficult to be original these days - but it's not hard to get a chuckle from the older comedians who know the business rather than the chuff we call "comedy" these days
Michael Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Thanks for the heads up. I thought the RD special on Dave was the last and it was a let down! Missing the all important canned laughter too, makes all the difference
leco Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Will it be with the original cast or new ones - anyone know?
synaesthesia Posted October 11, 2009 Author Posted October 11, 2009 Worth noting there was never any canned laughter in any series of RD. Closest it got was "semi canned" in series 8 - real laughter track from a showing. And yes, original cast
jedmondson Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 wooo. thats good news! I like watching Red Dwarf .
mikeglover Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Cool! I'm a fan of Red Dwarf. Series 1 was brilliant and that was done on a real low budget. I didn't enjoy the 3 part special that they did on Dave. I missed the canned laughter that was present in all the other episodes. Wonder if we will see Red Dwarf's Parallel Universe again?
CHR1S Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 Ive always been a huge fan and surprisingly loved the special! The bladerunner parody was brilliant. If they can get it to be similar in cinematography and style to series 3/4/5 I will be very happy as in my opinion they were the best, not to cheesy and cheap but cheesy and cheap enough to work!
CHR1S Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 They should leave it be. Have the Beeb not learned any lessons with Only Fools and Horses, and that terrible Red Dwarf 3 parter from last year? It just didn't work, there was no rapport with the characters, they looked like they were thoroughly uncomfortable with the whole thing. Dave, not the BBC made the 3 parter.
graywoodford Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 Woo! More Red Dwarf is always good. Wish they'd give them a decent budget though. More budget, red dwarf was always on a shoe string budget originaly and is by far the best of the dwarf. When they rereleased it on dvd with the special effects re done was sacrilege to the series!! Good news on the new series tho!! theres no kind of atmosphere, we're all alone more or less...
AyatollahPies Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 They should leave it be. Have the Beeb not learned any lessons with Only Fools and Horses, and that terrible Red Dwarf 3 parter from last year? It just didn't work, there was no rapport with the characters, they looked like they were thoroughly uncomfortable with the whole thing. Here here. As much as i love the Dwarf, it has past it's sell by date. Let us watch the brilliant re-runs of the first 7 series and just pretend it finished after that. I bought series 8 on VHS yeas ago and it didn;t have any laughter, canned or otherwise. I found myself not finding it funny at all. Sometimes canned laughter is needed. I suppose it works on the principle that laughter can be contagious. Ever heard someone laugh uncontrollably and knot know why, yet ended up doing the same?
gibboap Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 yeah massive fan i heard about "season 10" at red dwarf better than life. chloe annette announced it ish danny john jules rocks! and hattie knows how to dance! have a signed pic from most of them. hatties reads to adam what a dancer hattie x quality weekend
synaesthesia Posted October 13, 2009 Author Posted October 13, 2009 Some of the conventions are absolutely mint if you're into that sort of thing - the other folk will just think we're a load of ruddy nutcases Have been lucky enough to have a couple of drinks with Messr. Llewellyn in our birthtown of Northampton Amazing also to think what people have gone onto - Danny JJ (Cat) in Blade 2, being a close friend of Wesley Snipes, Chris Barry doing Womb Raider
Maz Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 Love Red Dwarf! But I also missed the canned laughter in the 3 part special. Only watched the first 10 minutes without. The laughter adds another dimension in my opinion. Liking the idea of a new series though Can't wait!
