Video 'watermarking' software

I'm looking for a piece of software that needs to be either open source, free or extremeley cheap. My requirments for the software are simple - tell it a path to a video file and a path to an image and it will overlay the image on the video.

 

The reason that I need this is to brand videos created with Windows Media Encoder. I believe it is also possible to get plugins for Encoder that do this so one of these would do.

 

Any ideas anyone?

I believe VirtualDubMod has some free plug in filters to do video overlay

Cheers SpuffMonkey but unfortunately VirtualDub cannot open the files created by Windows Media Encoder... something about ASF files

I have found VidLogo- its $30 but I believe it works with ASF.

Think you can still grab an older version that can handle asf if you look round

Have a look at AviSynth. Using DirectShowSource for processing your asf files and importing the virtualdub logo filter to add your watermark.

I've not tried but you can probably do it with Windows Movie maker. Import the video and then stick the watermark on as a title.

Hmm good idea, just had a quick look. It looks like you could add a semi-transparent title that lasts the length of the video.
