witch Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 I was at home watching the news waiting to go and pick up my daughter from school- the wierd thing was that most of the people at school hadn't heard about it and there was just a couple of us who knew and were trying to explain. It was quite bizarre
jamesb Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 I was working in a pub at the time and had to come in for a staff meeting. I remember us all coming back up the stairs after the meeting to hear the pub in complete silence. Everyone was sitting and watching. My first reaction was to grab a phone and desperately call my parents. They were in New York at the time, and I knew that one of the people they were going to meet was in the Towers. Fortunately for them, they'd had that meeting a few days before, but I didn't find that out until two days later since I was completely unable to get in touch with them.
CAM Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Was doing AS Levels at the time. On my way to the last lesson of the day when someone came down the corridor calling to her friends "Come look at this! They are blowing each other up over there on telly!" We went into the canteen and saw the footage, big crowd of us standing there until eventually we had to be dragged out by the teacher to class. Ended up with a very heated political argument breaking out and the teacher banned us talking about it until hometime.
