I've ran into a large problem

Im developing two subdomain sites for staff and students and I'm not far off from completeing them before I upload it all to the hosting company I'm with.

The problem is the student or learningwall is going to need more than 20Gb of storage for it to work, and the hosting plan I'm on is limited for both bandwidth and storage.

Is the a solution for thats preferably free  or not to expensive that can do the job?

Im with CSNEWMEDIA

If no other solutions come up you might have to go for a dedicated hosting package with unlimited transfer. It'd cost... but would allow you to do what you want :)

We can provide 20GB of disk space, but obviously not for free. :D

Not really sure were you are going to find that level of disk space 'free', unless you set-up an internal web server and even then it's going to cost you in line costs/hardware (if you do not have any spare) and time setting it up.

We can also provide a a range of virtual servers with up to 50GB of disk space and dedicated servers with as much space as is physically possible.

Avoid providers that are offering "unlimited" this and that. :)

Yeah ignore the unlimited stuff! theres no such thing as unlimited diskspace/bandwidth! they think you wont use that much.. and there is probably something in the small print!

I will also say that the unlimted stuff (or those that offer near enough the moon on a stick) are not worth it, our VLE is hosted by a US firm and talk about annoyance, it has large allowances etc but I get warned every month for breach of TOS as Moodle makes backups which we need for forgetful staff but as it makes a folder called Backup and we upload some zip files etc they get stressy saying were hosting archives and backup and they forbid this! Not much fun at all.

I would very much recommend CS New Media, and will say you get what you pay for. Last niggle I had with email, I did a support ticket about 5:45pm and at about 5:55pm I had a reply from Carl, apologising for the issues, explaining them in technical terms (as he knows I'm a technical person) and letting me know what they were doing about it and an ETA on repair. All of which were correct, and done by the times stated talk about service and information, a very honest and truthful person who could ask for more!

Drop me an email with exactly what you are wanting a price on, it might be more cost effective to upgrade to a virtual server over disk space add-on pricing.
