Sharing a outlook calender

Morning folks

 

I have been asked to setup a new outlook account in which the calendar will be setup with the schools calender data and then its to be shared with all members of staff.

 

We basically need a way of getting a central calender, managed by only 2 people, but accessable to all staff. We're using exchange 2003 and MS Outlook.

 

Is this the best way to do it? is it even possible to do it this way?

I cant be 100% about this as i now share it through sharepoint, use exchange 2007 and outlook.. but

 

In outlook 2003 you can create a new calendar, and then if you right click on the calendar you have the option to share this.. and then send an email to all staff with the calendar invite attached.

We have a School Calender in our "Public folders"

Only a few people can edit and all staff can view

 

We also now have Science Calender, Pastoral Calenders etc, that only the departments can see. The other staff dont even know they are there as they are not visable.

 

Very easy to setup and manage.

Hmm not sure are you logged in as the Administrator? Or just yur account on the Administrator Network Login?

annother question.

 

Ive got the calendar setup, i have shared it for the moment with 3 users, i have input an appointment for 5pm today, but non of the other accounts can see it?

 

does it take a while to update am i doing something wrong?

Disregard me previous post, i was being dumb...

 

 

But i do have a new problem, ive created the shared calendar in the public folders, but so far i have been unable to add it to my calendars view where i can copy over appointments etc.

 

can somone help me out?

i spoke to soon, i had to copy the calendar directly into my calendar file, then i was able to view it side by side my personal calendar.

 

now question is, this copy isnt live so any changes wont be available unless i copy the calendar over again, is there a way around this?
