In my “Tech Bag” I typically have;

Can of screen cleaning foam & some dry wipes

Can of air duster

Some wet wipes (for my hands)

Some non-latex disposable gloves

Couple of memory sticks, blank

1 memory stick with Mini-XP on it

1 memory stick with the common drivers needed for our machines

Couple of sound cables

Couple of network cables of varying lengths

2 VGA male-to-male cables

2 “kettle lead” power cables

1 usb to mini-usb cable

1 “printer” usb A to usb B cable

Pens and pencils, notepad, eraser, sharpener, scissors, elastic bands, paper clips

Bunch of cable ties

Plasters!

Rewritable CDs and DVDs (2 of each)

iPhone charger (mine)

Nokia charger (schools)

1 USB mouse (always seem to get pinched by whoever sees it first!)

I don't take this to every job though, only the ones I know will need something or if I'm going to be out of the office for a while.

On myself I usually have 2 mobile phones, keys for the whole school (I'm the stand-in site agent should the Premises Manager and his assistant be away for any reason), various fobs for entry to doors.

Sometimes I have my iPad so I can remote into my servers should I need to, but usually that's done from the machine I@m fixing if the need arises.

I don’t take a laptop of my own, never needed to really.
