pooley Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 youros.com is a mobile OS that you can setup your own Desktop etc, live chat, email, web browsing. We found using Surfcontrol that it bypasses surfcontrol's filtering, and all the nice kiddies can get to the pron. Just a heads up
Nij.UK Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 im getting the same at apeo..... its not getting me anywhere
OutToLunch Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 YouOS. It's http://www.youos.com not YourOs. EyeOS looks similar though... It's actually quite an interesting little toy to play with - entirely browser based OS which in theory retains its state, so you can work on something at home, roll into work and reconnect to carry on. Not sure about real world applications at the moment but the idea is pretty neat.
pooley Posted July 10, 2006 Author Posted July 10, 2006 sorry for the wroung url - was eating and typing at same time
Nij.UK Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 got it working now.... this is quite impressive i have to say.... its amazing what u can do on the web these days
webman Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 Ahh yes, ye olde "crumb in the middle of the keys" syndrome
mrforgetful Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 IT didn't bypass our filter, gutted I really wanted to go on playboy.com
Ric_ Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 Excellent little toy but the inbuilt web browser doesn't bypass the RBC filter
Gatt Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 didn't pass ours either - but asking it to be blocked on the kiddies side anyway
plexer Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 Tried this at work and it didn't get through the lea's filtering as it's just an http page if it were https then I would imagine it would go through all the filters. Ben
Espada Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 Thanks for that, I will get that blocked when I am in next
bossman Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 Espada: seems to me that you don't really work at all but let the contractors do it for you. They can't seem to be able to setup a filter that will block this site but who knows they may have by the time you get back to work. P.S see ya soon (take care who is watchin you)

At some point I will have to fit in acceptance testing for all the new servers we are having put in. Should be a nice quiet term.
