OverWorked Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Can anyone give me a budget figure for air con for a server room? Vague, I know! I've asked the company who have the maintenance contract for our LA. They tell me that due to new environmental laws and our LA's new policy regarding air con, it's going to be a long bureaucratic process to get them to consult before we get anywhere near a quote. We're not allowed to just get a contractor out of the yellow pages either (some schools have been forced to rip out air con installed by third parties in the past). It's a 4m x 2m windowless room about 4m from an external wall. Equipment is currently 6 servers and 6 switches. Anyone prepared to give a stab in the dark?
Soulfish Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Ours is coming in at the £3.5-5k mark for our new server room. Well that's what the Bursar's told me - I just supplied BTU figures and they did the rest! 1
Iain.Faulkner Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 I know this is different, but we've just priced up for two IT suites (both about two/three the size you've said), we were looking at £2.5k per room.

OverWorked Posted June 18, 2009 Author Posted June 18, 2009 Thanks everyone. £2.5k was what I had in mind, but with the consultants being involved, it'll probably come to more than that.
ninjabeaver Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Just had a Daikin system fitted here. Had to get scaffolding in so the pipework could be run and it came in at a little under 5K for 2 days work.
