In my short time here i've asked to block it 3 times and been told they needs it for resources, they're an arts & media school, and need it and they use it for lessons... it's a necessity...

 

EVERY day I go round catching the pupils on music videos and teachers just don't do anything, homework club should be called MTV catchup... all they do is watch music videos!

 

Teachers want to unblock twitter and facebook for educational purposes and are so trusting in the pupils they think it wont be abused... Good on you, I argue i should download resources and put them locally (WITH PERMISSION) so everyone can use them but they don't like that idea...

Just went into an ICT suite. They should have been doing a powerpoint but 75% were blatantly on youtube. I asked the teacher and she said it was difficult to stop them. She's wrong, I've managed in the time it takes to access the blacklist.

The staff are all going to sign a nice new AUP in September and its a disciplinary offence if they do let a student use there account as they have access to a lot of data covered by the DPA so its tighten up the rules and regulations
