ICTNUT Posted July 30, 2007 Author Posted July 30, 2007 I am looking for testers to test the new version of ANFS. If you are intrested and have some time on your hands please PM me and i'll give you the link for the BETA download. This has been some time coming really and will have the following enhancements: 1 - More user friendly interface 2 - Online (LIVE) update service 3 - Ability to backup files prior to deletion retaining directory structure within the backup 4 - Further improved scanning engine I have however removed the ability to do silent / scheduled scans as this was interfering with the refined scanning engine so I will look at putting this back in in the next release if people want it. The official release date for the next version if hopefully 1st September 2007 depending on how testing goes.
contink Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 Yep... happy to give it a shot... I have some need to play with something like this to check for problem files on one server so why not mix business with erm.. pleasure
spc-rocket Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 @DSapseid: Thanks for that, I have now fixed the issue and it is downloading the correct file. I'm trying to download the application but there do not seem to be a download link. Ash.
fooby Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 me too, after 10 minutes of clicking i still havent found it. if its not available, please at least say... ive been going nuts :D hehe
ICTNUT Posted January 22, 2008 Author Posted January 22, 2008 ANFS is available however I have disabled the download links for the moment. The reason behind this is that I am being hit hard on thebandwidth front given the number of daily downloads that are happening. If you require a copy please PM me and I will make it available but I am trying to get some mirror sites up and hopefully will have the downloads area on the main site open again shortly.
Kyle Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 I see this is no longer free anymore......................???
contink Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 (edited) I see this is no longer free anymore......................??? In fairness, why should it be... ICTNUT probably spent a good few months developing it and he's gotta eat like the rest of us... Edit: That probably sounded a bit too "high horse" like... I guess it would have been nice to get a heads up that the terms of use had changed.. Edited September 26, 2008 by contink
plexer Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 There are also lots of other tools being released from other talented guys on here and if everyone starts charging then we may as well go buy commerical tools. I realise that some of these take a lot of time to develop etc... but there is also a wealth of knoweldge and help on here that gets used by everyone. What if people started charging for answers to posts? I know Oz has developed a lot of stuff and MLH is fantastic. Ben
mac_shinobi Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 whats the link to it now and how much does it cost - cant see a link to it ?
jonathanhaddock Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 Personally I use Edusweep that's written by Bizzel. Worked quite nicely last time I ran it.
ICTNUT Posted March 2, 2009 Author Posted March 2, 2009 Just as an update to this and to clarify, ANFS and a few other tools I have written are being donated to Edugeek and will be made open source vis the projects area. Bizzel will be in control of this and we hope to have this done soon, I am sure an announcment will be made once the transition is complete. 1
PiqueABoo Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 Ah.. to be honest I'm not personally concerned about this, but that is clearly a good outcome i.e. both of you deserve a pat on the head.
krb548 Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 Has the Admins Nasty File Search Utility died now? Can anyone suggest a replacement that works on server 2008? Want to easily weed out music & games from pupils areas and the ANSFS was quite good at this.

Want to easily weed out music & games from pupils areas and the ANSFS was quite good at this. I would take a look at EduSweep — Paul Beesley as this is a far superior bit of software to ANFS.
