ISO to DVD

If I want to burn an ISO to a disc do I need any special application? Does the ISO somehow magically unpack itself? It's all a bit of a mystery, sorry. Any recommendations, please.

Thanks for the tip about Imgburn, Kim. I've always used InfraRecorder for burning ISOs but Imgburn looks a whole lot more useful.

Surprisingly XP doesn't natively burn to a DVD disc but only CDs, but I believe Vista does support DVD and probably even Blu-ray natively with the newly released Vista SP2.

 

I would recommend a third party application (as mentioned above). I like to use Nero 6 time to time. The last version of the software they made minus the bloatware!

Yes I used Nero for burning CDs until it got too fat. Unfortunately I have lost the original disc. Currently have Nero7, which I'd forgotten about, it sends my computer loopy every time I use it.

 

Note to self - must uninstall Nero7

I use nero express at work and imgburn at home.... TBH theres no diffrence and the result is the same

It's about time really isn't it? Would be nice if Microsoft allowed you to open RAR files natively too. They've done it for ZIP since Windows XP and it works great. Found myself installing WinRAR quite a few times recently...
