The water table in our school is 1 inch below the surface of my server room. This is why I invested in environment monitoring equipment, with flood sensors and sms message alerts. This way, unless the flood is happening in super speed (ie. it fills the room to a height of 3 inches), I have time to get down here and should be able to save things.

 

So long as I notice the text and can get someone to come and open up for me of course...
