Still doesn't seem to be working for me. I guess I will try to figure something else out. Thanks.

Shoot me a pm with your email address and I will mail it for now.

The HP website there is a newer version of the firmware (20101025). Just wondering if they have finally incorporated the beta version you have...into this version. What I would like to do is, if I can, get the link for the beta firmware and install that on one printer and then install the "newer" version on another. So, if you do not mind...could I get the link for the beta version please....thanks

Hi ZeroHour,

I have the same problems like others on my new P2055DN printer. My current firmware version is V.37.12.IR6498 from the Network Summary page.

Can you please email me the download link of the beta firmware also?

Thanks!

We are getting some of these printers - has anyone tested the latest firmware to see if it resolves all the issues or can I please ask ZeroHour to send me the download link for the beta firmware also?

Much appreciated - Thanks!

Our printer was ordered (after some issue) last night and delivered today with the firware of v.37.12.IR6498. I have upgraded using the latest version on the website - v37.12.IR6508 -

to confirm, i have just spoken to hp and they say there is no 'beta' they can give me and the one on the site is the latest.

Just throwing this in. My P2055dn goes offline afterer 30 seconds, restart print spool and its fine, 30 seconds later, offline again.

Has anyone enabled SNMPv1/v2 read-only access under the 'network settings' of the webinterface,

I have just enabled it, my offline issue has ceased!

Also, I found that the problem is on SMTP. If you disable SMTP on both the printer via the web interface and disable the SMTP of the printer driver TCP/IP Properties, the printer will never go offline. If you turn SMTP on, you will have to define the parameters in both the Printer Network Configuration matching your print driver tcp/ip configuration on SMTP. Since I don't need SMTP at home, I just disable it.

It would take a week to escalate the problem...wow...I'm guessing they forgot what escalating a problem is suppose to mean.

I made the following changes to the HPLJ2055dn and it seems to have fixed the problem with out updating the firmware.

Setting -> System Setup -> Connection Timeout (i/O) - change to 5

Networking -> TCP/IP Settings->TCP/IP(v6)-> uncheck Enable

Networking -> Network Settings ->SNMP-> click Disable SNMPv1/v2

Networking -> Other Settings -> Misc. Settings -> uncheck Multicast IPv4

Wemhave similar issues with a HP Colour Laserjet 2320 multi function. The bloody thing will be fine as soon as you switch it on, but leave it for 10 mins and it goes offline. It's weird because we host the printer from a print server, yet if I print direct from workstations it's fine??

What is even more weird is that the drivers for any os is no longer on the HP site! Have they found the flaw?

Hi

We are also having this problem of P2055dn's going offline on a regular basis, any chance of the link for this beta firnware, thanks.

We have loads of 2055dn's, and every one of them works brilliantly. In printer properties, see if disabling SNMP makes any difference.

We have all of ours networked, and given static addresses on their own address range. I don't think we've had a single issue with any of them, ever.

Your a lucky one then :)

I didn't mean to sound all smug, but I seriously never realised anyone had ever had a problem with these. However, I do get the same issue with HP 1320.

My theory is its to do with a networked device sending a packet that effects the 2055's and they dont handle the exception properly. We got the fixed firmware after we sent HP wireshark logs of traffic and I suspect they spotted the crashing packet.

New(ish) firmware on HPs website, dated 13th December 2010. Anyone tried it?

HP LaserJet P2055 Printer series*-* HP LaserJet Firmware Update Utility - HP Business Support Center (P2055dn)

On a side note, im getting another weird problem with these printers.

Every so often when a print is sent, nothing happens, when you try to print later, the previous document comes out instead? Switching on/off sorts it out, tried replacing the drivers on our print server but no joy.
