CapnPugwash Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 How do. Long time lurker, first time poster. Any chance I could grab the magic beta? We've only got a couple of 2055's but they are slowly driving me crazy... Cheers

Frazer Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 Appears to have fixed it on the P2055dn's! Thanks. Does anyone know if its ok to update a non 'n/dn' version (usb attached to a seperate hp print server) - will it update in the same way without breaking the print server or anything like that? Im getting the same issue with it

Im getting the same issue with it I didnt know it affected USB connections but I cant see why not, you would just target the ltp port of the usb I guess. I have no idea tbh if it will work so its up to you but in theory it could be okay over usb, it just depends on hp.
CurtTerse Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 Hey ZeroHour, I stumbled upon this thread whilst fielding dozens of angry calls from users regarding this issue. You very well might extend this human's life if you could be so kind as to PM me that firmware as it seems to be working for the lucky folks who have tried it.

I tried working with HP on this, but they were not of any help. And my problem is that this printer sat in a closet, unused, for over a year. No warranty. ZeroHour, if you would kindly pass the firmware along, I'd love to give it a shot. I'm hoping I can make my office happy with this printer.
zukappa Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Can I also get the magic betafix, please? We have 3 2055dns and two of them have the described problem...
ZeroHour Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Hi I will be PM'ing you details soon, just having a problem with the site that hosted the file.
Lushamania Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Hi I will be PM'ing you details soon, just having a problem with the site that hosted the file. Much appreciated! Since I work for non-profit we're stuck with this bum printer, but I would love to see the firmware resolve the issue.
kevinfife Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 I too am having the same problems others have complained about. Can I please get the beta firmware also?
rh3311 Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 This is my first entry so I'll do my best to be clear. I have a P2055d installed 3 weeks ago and works fine through the USB connection. But I have a Home network and share this printer from a second PC via my router. I've just had the OFFLINE message occur on my second PC (and it wouldn't print) whilst it was READY on the first PC where it did print. Everything worked well for 3 weeks, then I had the OFFLINE message from the networked PC. I rebooted a few times and eventually it reset to READY. I've not changed the configuration, except for this new printer, and previously my Laserjet 6MP worked without a problem. Does this sound like the same problem others have had and should I try the beta firmware if I can get hold of it? I'd appreciate any advice. Windows 7 / Firmware Datecode 20100308 (8 March 2010) /

rh3311 Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Thanks for the offer of help. I look forward to that. (I'm not aware of host problems, but I hope you can do your best.)
CurtTerse Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Just want to offer thanks for the firmware update. Works like a charm - our P2055dn are no longer dropping their connections. Cheers!
Lushamania Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Would anyone else that has received this firmware file from ZeroHour please share?
Orbit Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 I am having the same problems, can I get the beta firmware also?
johnnyshaka Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 If somebody wouldn't mind sending along the beta firmware update to me I would really appreciate it. Thanks.
bosworthj Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 I am surprised that after all this time HP still has just the March firmware release no their download page. Any chance I could get a copy of the beta firmware? Thanks,
ZeroHour Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 (edited) My link is working again, expect PM's very soon all. Sent to all, if you dont have a PM post me a message. Edited January 20, 2011 by ZeroHour
bosworthj Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 I got the private message, thank you, but I can't seem to get the download to work.
ZeroHour Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 The download link is in the bottom left corner, you should see a countdown and after that the button will show in yellow http://www.filesend.net/images/btdwn.jpg The problem with that site is they have an ad that looks like the download button, fail. Going to report it to them.
bosworthj Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Okay thanks. When I click on the download button you indicated it brings up a page that says the link is broken. I will try again from a different browser.
bosworthj Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Still doesn't seem to be working for me. I guess I will try to figure something else out. Thanks.
