Peer based assessment software?

We have a desire / need for students to be able to comment on each other's work (criticise/praise/suggest changes or different approach) and also to comment on each other's contribution to group work (never turns up to meetings!/etc).

 

There is a probable need for the option of anonymity (in latter case for example) and teacher review of the received feedback, with flagging of feedback that falls outside of an established baseline (i.e if everyone elses rate X as 8/10, why does someone else rate it 1/10?).

 

I've already has a look at WebPA* (WebPA | An Online Peer Moderated Marking Tool for Group Work) and it does what we need according to the department testing it, but we'd like Moodle integration if at all possible. I'm aware there's an old, neglected peer assessment module in moodle, due for rewrite in Moodle 2.0.

 

What else is there/are you using? We'd prefer web-based and Moodle integration would be marvellous.

 

*if you play with it, check the tracker on sourceforge for necessary patches - the tarball isn't up to date.

I have seen a primary school that uses Google Apps to similar effect - with peer assessment of powerpoints etc.

 

I believe from memory that Tom Barrett is the teacher I am thinking of.

we also use realsmart and find it very easy to use and the kids love it - will be rolling out further next half term

 

we use it for plts and mentoring and will soon look to get other depts involved
