Ruckus Wireless Again!

Hi everyone

I've posted a few times before about the Amazing Ruckus-Wireless and I bet you are now fed-up of hearing great is it. A While ago I post about one of the APs supporting 60 users at one time, I have a new screenshot showing one AP supporting 51 users at one time(not 60 as some children was out of the classroom or off sick) but a stonking 108 users across the ruckus Wireless. All working perfectly !!!

we're almost the opposite, all our APs are now N but only our new E6400 and macbooks are N.

Don't forget guys you can always mix and match your access points you dont have to stick with the one type that is another beauty of Ruckus it is versatile.

 

I will have the new outdoor access point and the new dual band for you to all see if you can make the Edugeek conference.

Just to hop on this thread to say 'Thanks' to Mark and Stu for spending a good few hours at school walking around and doing site surveys in the major areas we are looking at getting Ruckus.

 

They've also agreed to come back and set up for a special learning day we are holding in the main hall with schools from all over Norfolk.

 

Great start all ready and my team was more than impressed with the kit shown and the new stuff coming out.

Is this just connect through to the Internet, or are they connected to the domain with shares etc?

 

I have recently gone and bought a very expensive Zyxel solution, and it's CRAP! I wish I had this though. Just out of curiosity, what would be the initial (ball park) figure of a setup?

Hi KWestos

All the netbooks are connected to the domain with shares. Log on times vary between 30 seconds to about 2mins depending on how many users are login in at the same time. - This is more to do with the server able to handle the requests. My Ruckus APs never has fall over.

 

I spent original 6k for 10x ZoneFlex 7942 and Zone director 1012 APs since then I’ve added 2 more APs since then which brings it up to 7k for 12 APs and Zone director 1012.

 

I know that because the dollar rate has dropped against the pound its slightly more expensive but still far cheaper than other bands. I was original quoted for D-link and that was for 15 APs no central controller for 9k
