RM recruiting

Just had an email thru from CWJobs saying RM are looking for Senior Technical Field Support Consultants in North East, North West, and London/South East. Up to £40,000 basic + bonus + car

 

Details here if anyone's interested in those areas (no good for me unfortunately)

Those wages don't surprise me. Considering they pay starting 23-26k for their graduate scheme basic not including bonus for a field service engineer (preferably to have knowledge of windows networking) . Can quite easily see that after a few years time to 40k.

 

All that tax payers money gotta go somewhere!

It was on the original job advert - looks like the recruiter has now changed it to "unspecified"

I don't see the fascination with an MCSE, so many people are braindumping/proxy testing it's pointless :-/

dwhyte85, whilst I agree that alot of people do braindump, there are also a fair number of people who don't. You can soon find out who REALLY knows their stuff though with the right questions.

I also agree you can find out fairly quickly, i'd hope they put it through in the interview with a severe grilling and loud noises to scare the interviewee. Not really, i'm sure they have something in place to catch people out, especially with the economic climate as it is - lots more people going for the jobs, better selection of candidates - i'm sure they're on top of it.

 

It is a really good wage though, good luck to all that apply.

This sounds like my previous job... just MUCH better pay.

 

I don't know if RM are any better than my previous employer(they probably do have a few more engineers) but whoever gets the job probably will end up covering all of those areas on a weekly basis which is the main reason I left. Working in Liverpool on Wednesday, Bradford Thursday and south east London on Friday really isnt my cup of tea anymore

 

It really is an ideal job if your young free and single though, the amount of experiance I gained was amazing - I ended up working in all sorts of schools all over the place setting up and supporting networks.

Business case, they can tell all of their customers that 'Our engineers are Microsoft Certified' this covers their backs in any due diligence court case and it's a selling point. If they say that then all of their engineers must be certified so they would much rather hire you with it rather than pay for it.

 

It also provides an easy filter for HR

 

 

@ DevilsAdvocate, I couldn't agree more I didn't braindump any of my certs and you do come accross features that you didn't think to explore but are forced to for the exams and it's ocasionally useful to think the MS way. As you say you can soon find a braindumper.

And if you love driving, a lot.

 

Personally I wouldn't consider it even on that salary unless they're giving me a petrol charge card. I've been caught out like that before.

Would love to be out and about like that! < Young, free and single. Thats type of job I will be aiming for by 30. 7 years to go.

 

I don't see how any of the braindumps out there are legit anyway. Some of the question lists Ive seen can be useful for testing yourself. Any braindumper with an MCSE would be found out anyway.
