StuartC Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 Just got a new system on the weekend, and installed battlefield 2 (been waiting to play it for ages but my old geforce 4 wasnt supported) and it is excellent, just being a madman and running over people in my hummer. Does anyone else like the Battlefield games? I was a bit of a veteran at bf1942 and could quite often be found flying b17s upside down under bridges
RobC Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 As long as it wasn't flying B17s upside-down INTO bridges!
tarquel Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 ooops forgot to post that I've got BF2 now well... a few weeks ago and i think my handle on it will be easily guessable lol Nath.
kingswood Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 Battlefield 2 is excellent....ahhhhhh...much fun playing that. Esp. since I get to drive an Abrams around. Strange though: the enemy look like the teachers at our school. Anyone else notice that? Paul :-)
E1uSiV3 Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 I havent got any sort of gaming rig atm :\ i usta play a bit of BF1942 tho What sorta hardware you guys running nowadays?
ChrisH Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 Most people are running an Nvidia 6600-6800 or an ATI X700-800 these days for good value for performance.
kingswood Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 I'm running it fine on an X300 Radeon PCI-Express card. My main gaming haunt is XBox Live, so PC games don't hold me for that long. Since BF2 is being released for XBox shortly, I think I will use that to game with and avoid system crashes, and the thought of updating my graphics card to something decent costing in the region of (wait for it) £280. Ouch. No thanks. Paul :-(
kingswood Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 Get behind me satan! But you're right. I bought the XBox 360 magazine over the weekend and some of the vidoes of up-coming titles are mouth-watering. Damn I hate spending money! Paul :-)
ChrisH Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 Ive been playing this for about 5-6 weeks now and I love it! I have stopped playing DoD mainly due to all the ****holes that seem to be playing the game now it is well established. In my last 3 weeks of playing DoD I have been banned from 3 servers for "cheating" well excuse me for having a decent PC, over 6 years experience of playing online FPS and no I dont need a wallhack to know where your coming from if your going to sprint accross gravel this wonderous device of mine known as headphones can pretty much tell me which direction your coming from /rant off http://www.bf2sigs.net/sigs/2/4/66477980.png
pshuttle Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 BF2 is a great game! The Special Forces expansion was very dissapointing though and the Euro Force addon was an absolute pain to get installed due to EA Downloader. I am an experienced guy and had problems - if you were not technically minded there would have been no way you would have got it working. Pete
Geoff Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 EA just milking its install base for money with expansions as usual. (Think Sims... )
tarquel Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 I havent played BF2 for ages - would be up for a blast some night this week [i might be a bit pants tho lol]. Grab me on xfire [tarquel] people. Nath. PS Hope everyone is going to bring a laptop or something. We could have a quick gaming fest in the lunch break My laptop *is* my gaming machine at the moment lol
ChrisH Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 I have just bought a joystick for Jets and choppers. Took a bit of getting used to though. Im fairly confident with the jets but I seem to be better with choppers with mouse and keyboard at the mo. My X fire is a bit flakey for some reason but after 8:30 you can look me up on a server somewhere most nights.
Geoff Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Chopper is ok. I just found that using the throttle on my joystick made them unflyable. I mapped the throttle to buttons for choppers and its dead easy to fly them.
tarquel Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 I havent even tried either - and probably never will lol Nath.
ZeroHour Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 I will play tarq, adimittly I am addicted to oblivion 360 edition right now but I can spare the time do you use teamspeak?
tarquel Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 I've got it installed but have never used it I've just used skype in the background with a few mates lol Nath.
ChrisH Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 I have a TeamSpeak server but I wouldnt subject to the other characters that lurk there from my old DoD clan. Their sense of humour is something that you have to get a taste for
ZeroHour Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Chris u got msn or xfire? My mates runs a TS server which I am on the whole time, but as chris said you would have to put up with my old CS:S ho3's
