New Vanilla help!

What is the easiest way of assigning printers to PC's. I guess it will be through policies, but I don't know how. We are moving away from our middle-ware and eventually want a vanilla network. Also, I need to group stations to assign shortcuts. I don't want shortcuts on stations that do not have the application loaded on.

 

I basically need help on locking down/configuring the stations as I want to remove our management software.

There's loads of scripts on here that members have created or you could use server 2003 r2 printer management which seems to work well.

Start up scripts are by far the easiest way to assign a printer to a PC in my opinion.

what system are you running: server 2003 (R2) or 2008?

 

Have you looked at the print server role/feature?

Some have got the scripts you need all written out nicely
