Junior Librarian.Net opinions needed

We have been using Junior Librarian 3 for a while now although haven't renewed our subscription. We received a mailshot about the .Net version. I have searched the forums but haven't come up with anything of late.

Has anybody purchased it and using it? Would love to hear opinions before making a decision.

Not heard about that one yet. Had a bit of trouble with Junior 3 at a few sites but MLS were very quick to sort it out, quite impressed by that. Might poke them for a working demo or something

We use Eclipse .NET (basically the same but with a less bubbly interface AFAIK)... it's does the job and is a lot more stable than it used to be.

We use Eclipse.net. It was a buggar to set up from eclipse as we were sticking it on a x64 sever and they hadnt released a 64 bit version for it, so we had to send off our database.. but so far (touch wood) no real problems, apart from it been a bit slower than eclipse.

We got the mailshot as well but have decided not to purchase. The librarian uses Junior 3 but nobody else seems to know how it works.

We use junior librarian - the support is excellent and software very 'useable', so would assume that the new net version would be as well.

I agree, I have supported/deployed Junior Librarian 3 at several sites and it's an excellent product. The support is also excellent and I can highly recommend it.

 

I can only presume (going by its name) that either the product is completely online, or the database is still stored within school and accessed via a browser. The latter would make sense as it's one less thing to deploy.

Its web-based and can be tied into MS Sharepoint with the right add-ons etc.

We decided against it in the end as it would cost £525 ex VAT Too much for a school our size.

I know thats a bit of a joke TBH, the price list I saw a couple of years back for it was a bit excessive tbh for it as it was around £1K wasn't it (or was that something else i'm mixing it up with?!)
