  1. Would like to know this too
  2. We are having major construction works going on in our school. We have had new Dell rackmount servers installed in our new server room. Unfortunately this was never sealed off, although we were told this was going to happen. This has meant that the server room and more importantly, our servers are full of dust! Do we have to use a Dell authorised service centre to get these cleaned or can we use a local computer firm, which is what seems to be on the pipeline. Obviously, I want the job done professionally without invalidating our warranties. Hopefully then I can be excited again about our new servers instead of feeling glum
  3. I certainly hope so otherwise a lot of corporates are going to be annoyed!
  4. Spare nibs (the only wearing component) are provided freely by Promethean support. http://www.prometheanplanet.com/server.php?show=ConGenericProduct.138
  5. No clutter at all. Programs loaded through a toolbar on the taskbar and through the Start Menu for My Recent Documents etc
  6. First of all I would like to say a big thank you to this thread as I used to wonder "Is it me?" Pretty much all teachers it's just a Hi/Goodbye besides IT questions. Most of the TA staff are a bit mre chatty. I get on with the Head and Deputy head/ICT Coordinator. The office staff are pretty friendly too along with the caretaker. Never been in this situation ever before though as other work places that I have worked in has been a very friendly banter
  7. Unfortunatley we use it here too although don't have it in use yet. Planning on getting the basics up and running from September...such joy!
  8. I have used GetDataBack and Active@ File Recovery Software & Web Service. Data Recovery for Windows XP 2003 2000 98 ... with great sucess
  9. Another vote for LogMeIn. Secure, easy to setup and works well
  10. I'm not sure about that. I registered as a user and not as a school. I was referring to computers built from scratch by myself, should have said so in my post.
  11. I was led to believe as long as you are a registered system builder, a case of registering on the system builder website, you can purchase the OEM versions to then be installed on a bare sytem ready for the school agreement volume licence media and vlk. That is what our previous and current reseller told us.
  12. Thanks for all those who replied We decided against it in the end as it would cost £525 ex VAT Too much for a school our size.
  13. I am sure that wallpapers can still be changed using the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer though
  14. We have been using Junior Librarian 3 for a while now although haven't renewed our subscription. We received a mailshot about the .Net version. I have searched the forums but haven't come up with anything of late. http://www.microlib.co.uk/products/JuniorLibrarianDotNet.aspx Has anybody purchased it and using it? Would love to hear opinions before making a decision. Thanks Andy
  15. I have been using the Beta and now am running the release and overall am very happy with it. There are a few quirks which as soon as they are ironed out, I will be installing it on all computers. Professional for the IWB computers and personal for everything else.
  16. I'm glad IE7Pro worked out for you
  17. I think I will be contacting our licence provider as we are suffering downloading clipart in Office 2007 when multiple users are accessing it. Our LEA support said it is a known problem and no plans on fixing it either
  18. Thanks for the heads up
  19. Do I need glasses? I cannot find this anywhere

  22. Well all I can say is thankfully I have had none of these issues that are mentioned with Sophos and although I persoanlly wouldn't choose it, I have no complaints from using it.
  23. They do use Insert > Picture from the ribbon and not copy and paste but the problem still happens.
  24. Congrats, I am sure you'll do a great job that will continue to make edugeek the success that it is
