Hi there,

Does anyone know if its possible to convert a Figure of 8 plug (IEC C7) to a Kettle Lead type plug (IEC C13).

I ask as one of our projectors has failed, and it has a figure of 8 lead. We have a spare projector, but it requires a kettle lead. So instead of pulling out all the cables I wondered if there was a way to do this.

Previously we have used similar converters from Maplin to convert a Figure of 8 to a clover leaf.

However I can;t find any on the internet, so I am assuming its not possible (or even safe!).

Edit: No as the figure 8 does not have ground, I read it backwards hence the info below.

You can do it the other way though:

If the procjector has a kettle lead then it is most likey a class I device and needs a earth. It would fail a PAT test if the earth isn't connected and could potentially be dangerous.
