If you want to by a Creative Mp3 player be quick as this company is in financial dire and may fold before Christmas.

Is that just the mp3 player side of the company, or the whole? I thought they had the soundcard business monopoly?

That’s the whole company; it is loosing money by the millions. The most successful side of its business is its mp3 player but Apple has 78% of the market Creative shares what is left with a number of suppliers. The company in desperation to make funds has decided to sue Apple over the interface used by the iPod, its estimated that this kind of action could take up to ten years to resolve and would be very costly, eventually it will financially cripple Creative as Apple have deep pockets and will hold out. The ironic thing is that most mp3 players use this similar interface so they would have been better going after a smaller company, if they won then there would be precedence for a legal case against all users and licensing for the interface would then need to be paid to Creative.

That's surprising, I thought they were more established with their pc peripherals, due to apple having a large slice of the mp3 player cake.
